Anthuriums took centre stage for this rather sharp London city wedding, where a mainly red floral design and dramatic production showed the ballroom at The Londoner Hotel in a contemporary light.

The ‘hottest’ wedding design I have ever dreamt up, brought to life together with the best team and artist-florist Hamish Powell.

The couple wanted something grand yet cool — nothing that says wedding, please. Anthuriums, reds and pinks were a must, and so was well choreagraphed lighting for the ceremony and dinner.

We landed on mirrored surfaces as another common design thread throughout the day, creating a dramatic aisle and altar, as well as a central installation during dinner. Chic red velvet drapes framed the ceremony and later dance – what a glamorous sighting.

The couple’s love of hints of art deco were carefully woven into the design by means of fonts and Champagne saucers. The green marble room at the Londoner Hotel was dressed with statement floral arrangements, that could only ever be for this very space.

This London city wedding was nothing short of fantastic, bold and a little different. A floral dream, and a dream brief indeed.
