A modern English-Chinese fusion wedding at Eltham Palace – a one of its kind English Heritage site in South London.

When Linda and Tom finally got to celebrate their legal marriage after a few years’ wait, it was important that the day felt light-hearted and more like a gathering, than a formal wedding. The couple landed on Eltham Palace, as it conveniently combined Tom’s love of everything Art Deco and Linda’s love of all things medieval and whimsical. How wonderful!

The Great Hall, with its much loved historic features, framed the couple’s dinner and dance for 80 guests from all over the world. The wedding design was simple yet elegant, where old world cues were carefully merged with elements taken from Chinese culture.

To create impact, we dressed two long rows of tables with some of Linda’s favourite spring flowers and taller candelabras wrapped in a dried moss – all complete with carefully designed (by a close friend) stationery, which featured red text and floral illustrations, as done so beautifully in Chinese printing.

Linda and Tom's Eltham Palace wedding reception was uncomplicated yet personal, including some of the best Chinese food to share.
