An August London wedding at Queen’s House Greenwich, with a design that was quietly elegant and stayed authentic to Gege & Andy’s sensibilities and their love of gentle flowers, orange and blue.
One of the most genuine couples and group of people we have ever been involved with – Gege & Andy.
Finding the right venue took a little moment, but the days we stepped into the gorgeous Queen’s House in Greenwich, we knew it was the one.
Not only is this historic London venue in pristine condition and flows nicely, it also features the perfect balance of blank canvas and ornate or Mediterranean-ness, which the couple are so drawn to in general. (Queen’s House was built in the Palladian style. A Classical style, named after the Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio.)
For their intimate legal ceremony in the iconic Great Hall, we opted for a simple yet chic backdrop using much-loved Hydrangeas and Nerines—flowers that first appeared on the wedding invitations and can also be seen in the venue's golden ceiling decor.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather, allowing us to host a stunning alfresco dinner under the West Colonnade of Queen’s House. One long table was set against breathtaking views of the Royal Observatory and so much more of old and new London. The colours orange and blue, both carry meaning for the couple, added a personal touch to the design, with orange being a key colour in Indian culture.
After dinner, guests enjoyed an hour of the finest cocktails on the venue’s grand terrace, before heading downstairs into the Undercroft for more cocktails and an after party until the early hours.
‘Our wedding day was perfect. Anné created something really special, with thought, care and imagination. She planned and ran the day with faultless diligence and top class organisation and management. We will forever be grateful for Anné’s efforts and couldn’t recommend her enough.’
